Shift2Games 2.0 – now in four more languages!
On December 5, the new version of the Shift2Games platform was officially (re)launched in Skopje. This event was organized by SGA (Serbian Games Association) and MGI (Macedonian Gaming Industry Association), and MGI was also involved in localizing the platform to the Macedonian language.
In addition to Macedonian, from now on you can read the website’s content in Albanian, thanks to Albanian Gaming Community, and SGA has made sure that it is understandable worldwide by translating it into English. An additional, “universal” BCS version is intended for users from the entire region.
This is extremely important because Shift2Games is a unique resource and we have not found a place where it is possible to get more detailed information about 50 positions in the gaming industry in 10 different fields to date. In addition, it is possible to find expert statements on the platform in the form of blogs, as well as interviews within the six episodes of the Shift2Games series, which are now also available with an English subtitle.
The platform was launched in the spring of 2023 in the Serbian language, and since then Career Days have been held as part of it in Serbia, while a number of smaller events and workshops are planned that will help high school and university students, as well as young professionals to better prepare for their employment in the field of video game development.
Behind these future events and the new version of this platform stands the entire regional gaming industry, which consists of members of these associations: SGA (Serbian Games Association), MGI (Macedonian Game Industry Association), Bit Alliance (BA) from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Monte Games (MG) from Montenegro, Albanian Gaming (AGC) Community and Kosovo Game Developers (KGD).
Shift2Games would not be possible without the support of the RECONOMY program. RECONOMY is a regional inclusive and green economic development program of the Swedish Development Agency Sida, which is implemented by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation, in cooperation with the organization Help – Hilfe zir Selbsthilfe e.V. and other partners in the countries of the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership.
