BEST Belgrade is organizing AIBG – an intensive student programming competition

This December, on the night between the 9th and 10th, the local group of the European BEST (Board of European Students of Technology) Association, BEST Belgrade, is organizing the intensive student programming competition AIBG Belgrade (Artificial Intelligence BattleGround Belgrade).

For the sixth consecutive time, 16 teams will gather in one place to compete in creating an intelligent player (bot) for a given video game. Each team will have 20 hours at their disposal, after which the bots will compete in two phases – a group stage and a final battle. The top three ranked teams will win valuable prizes of 100,000, 50,000, and 25,000 dinars. As in previous years, we are honored that the potential of the project has been recognized by the company QCerris.

The competition will take place at the University Metropolitan, as it did in previous years.

The aim of this competition is to provide students of technical and technological, and mathematical faculties, and higher schools with an opportunity to get closer to the professional world through work on an independent project. In this way, they will be able to apply their already acquired knowledge and expand their knowledge of artificial intelligence and programming. At the same time, they will be able to develop a competitive and team spirit.

In addition to the central competitive event, additional content has been prepared – Make IT Learn MeetUp and WarmUp. Make IT Learn MeetUp aims to inform all interested students about trends in artificial intelligence and will take place on November 20. WarmUp is a series of introductory activities before the competition itself, intended exclusively for competitors, and its goal is to properly introduce competitors to the upcoming weekend.

The Board of European Students of Technology, BEST Belgrade, is an international, non-profit, apolitical student organization. Since its founding in 2003, the local group has facilitated connections, exchanges, and collaboration with students from all over Europe. BEST’s role as an organizer is to bring together students, companies, and the university in one place.

If you are an ambitious student eager for challenges, gather a team of 3-4 members or apply individually and test your programming skills in this intensive hackathon! Applications will be open from November 8 to 24 on the website.
