We gathered the Serbian gaming community and announced something big!

SGA Assemble, the annual gathering of SGA members, was held for the fourth time. If you haven't been, here's your chance to find out what you missed, and if you did, it's not bad to recap!

While last year we hung out in Novi Sad, this time the choice fell on the windy terrace of Haos Community Space Artklasa, and the skirts were held tightly so that most of the women present would not turn into Marilyn Monroe. Still, September 12, the only sunny day of the week, could not be spoiled by a little wind.

This year’s SGA Assemble was sponsored by Wargaming Belgrade, which also prepared a networking quest for the attendees: the fastest to complete it by meeting new people and learning about new studios and video games, received prizes. This was an especially good ice-breaker for first-timers at an SGA event. But judging by the number of people who jumped into each other’s arms when they saw each other, it seems that there weren’t many of them.

Introductory speeches were not so much about what we did in 2024, but what we will do this week. Namely, for the first time ever, Serbian Games Week will take place on Steam, from September 19th to 26th.

The official program lasted a short time so that people could return to meeting each other and chatting as soon as possible. It was opened by Program Director Relja Bobić and President of the Board of Directors Marija Ilić from SGA. Then Nikola Stojanović, General Manager at Wargaming Belgrade, took the microphone and talked about the extent to which SGA prepared the ground for what Wargaming planned to do in the Serbian gaming community upon its arrival.  In the end, the CEO of SGA, Mihajlo Jovanović-Džaril, addressed the audience, with his birthday “coincidentally” being on September 12. Assemble is undoubtedly a good way to throw yourself the most attended birthday party! 😃

Introductory speeches were not so much about what we did in 2024, but what we will do this week. Namely, for the first time ever, Serbian Games Week will take place on Steam, from September 19th to 26th. During that period, around 60 games created in Serbia will be presented, as well as those that are currently being created, and many of the already released ones will be available at a greater discount. Excitement is level over 9000!

Although Assemble marks the gaming start of fall, the year is far from over for SGA. We’re already organizing a [Concept] Art Meetup on Wednesday, we’ve announced Unreal Day with two game jams and we’re planning a lot more! To stay up to date, be sure to follow the SGA Instagram page and join our Discord community, where the news is served hot!
