Game Dev Meetup – powered by Webelinx Games

I know what you played last summer

We’re bringing together the game dev community in Niš once again for another relaxed meetup dedicated to video games, the people who make them and everyone who wants to peek behind the screen. Get ready for interesting presentations, industry stories, experiences from local studios, as well as a special guest from France. From costumes to an odyssey to voice acting – the recipe for a good time is ready!

Whether you’re already working in the industry, just thinking about a career in game development, or simply love games and want to meet people from the community, this is the place for you.

Here’s what awaits you:

Nikola Ristovski, Lead Developer, Webelinx Games

Every great game starts small. But what happens when your game grows and players want more? In this talk, we will look ahead at the common challenges of scaling up and discuss practical, automation-driven solutions to keep your pipeline running smoothly as your studio grows.

Aleksandr Shimanov, Founder, Kokrok Production

Florent Maurin, President, The Pixel Hunt

Ithaca: A Narrative Road-trip RPG about Climate Resistance

Get to know The Pixel Hunt’s fifth project, as well as the concept of “reality-inspired games” that is present in all the games made by this French studio. Florent will also discuss setting up a Kickstarter, coming up with weird marketing ideas and asking people uncomfortable questions, such as “Why make video games in a world on fire?”

After the presentation, we continue with informal networking and local beer.

Bring your favorite gaming stories, recommendations for games that no one should miss, and come to discover together what we played last summer!

Add the event to your Google Calendar at this link.

Florent Maurin’s participation in the meetup was made possible through the Game Caravan project, which is implemented in cooperation with the French Institute.
