FOR THE WIN! – 100% game dev conference

The only local conference fully dedicated to the domain of video game development, FOR THE WIN!, will soon present its fourth edition. A rich program of lectures, panels and workshops awaits you on May 28 and 29, with more than 50 speakers from all over Europe. For the first time, indie studios will have the opportunity to present in front of the public and, more importantly, foreign publishers.

More than 500 visitors will gather again on May 29 in mts Hall, for the fourth edition of this professional event, with a masterclass on AI in game production that will be held the day before. On the Speakers page, you can see 50 notable names who will join us this year from Poland, France, Finland, Sweden, Great Britain, Puerto Rico, Slovenia, Croatia, Russia and Slovakia, along with numerous local developers.

Like every year, FTW! offers the audience an interesting mix of lectures, panels and workshops that are aimed both at those who develop games for mobile devices, as well as developers and designers of core games, or other creative-tech niches. Some of the topics that will be in focus this year are publishing, the use of AI tools in production, ad monetization, news related to the most important game engines (Unity and Unreal Engine), external development (that is, outsourcing), as well as topics on the resistance to crisis that continues to persist within the the gaming industry.

Among the renowned companies, but for the first time also publishers, whose representatives will be in front of the audience in Belgrade are CD PROJEKT RED, Anshar Studios, Outfit7, Unity, Intel, 3Lateral/Epic Games, Aurora Punks, Old Skull Games, Sperasoft, Raw Fury, Bright Gambit, Spectral Games, Untold Tales, Shosha Games, Foxy Voxel, Chat3D, Grindstone, Herocraft, Untold Tales, GameBiz Consulting, Kando Factory, Narwhal Accelerator and many others.

What to expect?

The program will be divided into a few halls:

Hall 6 – Main program

This is where the core of the conference will be located, including a Fireside Chat with Tim Browne and other big names from the industry, as well as Game Slice – a segment dedicated to publishing, where indie teams will present their projects to the jury and audience.

Hall 5 – Mobile track & more

The program in this hall will start with presentations focused on mobile games, but will also touch on other topics, such as VR, technology, marketing, product analytics and many others.

Hall 4 – Stakeholder roundtable

From 11 AM to 1 PM, a round table will be held in Hall 5, which will be focused on acceleration and incubation.

After the end of the program, from 8 PM to 1 AM, FTW! is moving to Cetinjska, the networking and party capital of Belgrade.

About the lecturer

Tim has been a passionate advocate of the video games industry for the past 26 years. Starting as a Level Designer, Tim worked his way up to Creative Director within the design discipline. He has worked at various companies including Activision/Blizzard/King, Ubisoft, Avalanche Studios and Codemasters. He has also worked on some well-known games, including three Assassin’s Creed titles, the Candy Crush franchise, Operation Flashpoint and many more.

He now works as the CPO of Bright Gambit, a company he co-founded with some other like-minded industry veterans focusing on supporting indie developers break into the industry.

Nicolas Briere,
CEO & Creative Director, Old Skull Games
About the lecturer

A passionate entrepreneur and Game Designer (Activision, Ankama), Nicolas has been part of the video game industry for nearly two decades. As the Co-founder of Old Skull Games, he has led the creation of numerous games and guided the studio’s growth to a 80-person team, establishing it as a key player in France. He has collaborated with Ubisoft, Apple and Netflix on projects such as Valiant Hearts: Coming HomeSpongeBob: Patty Pursuit and Cryptical Path.

Drawing from his entrepreneurial experience, he also supports young studios and specialized schools, helping creators structure their projects and anticipate market shifts. Convinced that the industry is undergoing profound transformations—from the rise of AI to new economic dynamics—he closely follows the changes shaping the future of gaming. His approach blends pragmatism with long-term vision, striving for sustainable and innovative models.

Magdalena Cielecka,
Head of Production, Anshar Studios
About the lecturer

A game developer with over ten years of experience as a Producer, Magdalena worked on adventure games such as Grim Legends series, Irony Curtain: From Matryoshka with Love and a narrative RPG called Gamedec. Currently holding the position of Head of Production at Anshar Studios.

She is a doctor of Humanities with a thesis on dialogue structures in video games, game studies scholar and an educator. For over ten years she was a lecturer in the field of Game Design at the Jagiellonian University and Tischner European University (currently part of SWPS University) in Kraków. In the years 2019-2022 she was also serving as deputy dean and scientific coordinator of the Game Design program at Tischner European University.

She is a co-organizer of six international conferences in the field of Game Studies in Krakow and Katowice. and was a curator of the videogame section of the Ars Independent 2024 festival, as well as a member of the Digital Dragons Program Board and juror of the CEEGA competition for five years.
