XP for IP: Level Up Your Copyright Knowledge

Protect your creativity. Power up your studio. Level up your IP and privacy knowledge.

How do you protect what you’ve created: your game, characters, name, code and player data?

In this hands-on workshop, we’ll uncover how IP and data protection work in the real gaming world – from copyrights and trademarks to publishing contracts and user privacy.

You’ll learn:

• how to protect your brand and what the costs are,
• who actually owns the game and how to make it clear in your contracts,
• how to avoid risks when using AI tools and third-party assets,
• how to apply privacy by design – building privacy into your game from the very start – and ensure it is GDPR-compliant, as well as
• what potential investors will focus on when evaluating your studio.

All topics are covered through real-world examples – no dry theory, just practical insights from everyday studio challenges.

IMPORTANT: This workshop is open only to SGA members.
