Winter Meetup: stories from the industry

We're starting the year in Vojvodina's largest gaming center, Novi Sad, and the topics for warming up at the beginning of 2026 are varied, so we're sure you'll find something that's super interesting to you. If nothing else, there will be a raffle for noodles with poppy seeds, so you can't miss out on coming to the next gaming meetup!

This meetup focuses primarily on indies and service providers: from a large company that (among other things) handles localization, to new faces in our indie scene, to familiar ones in a new groove. And then some have made the turn from service providers to indie gaming. Quite a feast!

Here’s what awaits you:

Đorđe Đorđić, Founder and CEO, Pixels2Pixels Studio

Mind Faux: The First Compliance

Đorđe will present the game as a case study of developing their own IP after years of working on client projects, with a special focus on ethics, responsibility, and compliance as integral parts of gameplay. Mind Faux is a narrative escape-room video game that explores propaganda, manipulation, and decision-making in the era of artificial intelligence.

Aleksandra Efremenko, Marketing Director, and Marina Turkina, CEO, Allcorrect

The “Speedrun Strategy” for Game Localization

You’ve got massive volumes of text, tight deadlines that deplete your stamina bar and a budget that needs to be managed like mana during a boss fight?
Think of run.loc as their proprietary cheat code (the legal kind). They will show a hybrid localization pipeline that combines the raw processing power of AI with the critical thinking of experts.

Mirko Topalski, Nexus, RETROMAGINE

RETROMAGINE – Games Showcase

RETROMAGINE is an indie game studio focused on creating retro-inspired pixel art games with modern, system-driven design. In this presentation, they will showcase their philosophy and two in-development titles: IGNOBLE, a brutal incremental beat ’em up platformer, and BOTS 4 DEFENSE, a fast-paced co-op tower defense game. They’ll talk about their gameplay-first, iteration-heavy approach and their goal of building a sustainable studio through multiple releases per year.

Aleksandar Fridman, Lead Game Designer, and Anđela Nikolić, Concept/UI Artist, Thunderpunch Studio

Oprost: From classroom to Games.con

Thunderpunch Studio will present their journey from how they evolved a student project into an anticipated Steam title. This presentation will cover their experience as indies in game design, art and marketing.
