Professional tools in the hands of young creators: the best Fortnite games from Serbia
Of all Fortnite players (which there were over 600 million globally last year), an estimated 70% also play Fortnite Islands – independent projects created by players themselves or smaller teams. These games are quick to make, easy to publish and no programming or 3D tool knowledge is required. Just a good understanding of game design and new trends.
This is possible thanks to UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite), a base of tools and assets that allows creators to easily enter the world of game creation. Young creators who want to try their hand at this have a unique advantage – Serbia is the only place where there is on-site education for UEFN, in cooperation with 3Lateral, with the support of Epic Games and SGA (Serbian Games Association).
This year alone, three generations have completed the one-month, intensive Game Crafting education course: two in Novi Sad and one in Belgrade. Over 30 new games have been released. Here we highlight the best, and you can find the full list of games here.
Bug Ops – Escape The Stink (Milica Pešić a.k.a. B_97)
Stink bugs are bothering Mr. Mothman. Collect petals to make perfume and help him out. Ride a worm while you’re at it! A fast-paced shooter and collectable set in a trippy forest.
Funk Forbidden (Tamara Maksimović a.k.a. tacukki)
The floor is lava? And the lava is sound? If you like good music, funky surroundings and, most of all, you like platformers and tricky jumps in games, try this island. Be the first to the finish line, but do it as quickly as possible!
Scavenger Rush Updated (Miloš Karadžić a.k.a. shmee1)
5 vs 5, FPS, motorbikes, post-apocalypse. Buildings overgrown with nature, class choices and good old “capture the flag”. Fight the enemy faction and secure valuable resources. Map out the fastest motorcycle route or parkour route.
Outbreak Protocol: Impossible to Survive (Ognjen Marić a.k.a. 5uck1t)
Continuous waves of enemies, almost impossible to defeat. Gear up, fight for survival and test the limits of your endurance in a relentless zombie shooter. Every second counts. The game has an upgrade system and classes.

Will you delve deep into your subconscious? Find the missing pieces in this atmospheric, Escher-esque experience that shows what Fortnite can be beyond adrenaline.
The games in this trailer were created by first-generation Novi Sad students. With the help of instructors, they learned the basics of game development in just four weeks, as well as valuable lessons in marketing and game publishing. The trailer was released on the official UEFN creators channel.
