Responsibilities:
- Utilize modular approach to design visually stunning, atmospheric, effective, and efficient game environments.
- Create reusable modular level kits, tiling, and trim textures.
- Build worlds, set dressing, lighting and optimize levels in Unreal Engine.
- Develop functional modular assets for sharing across the projects, adhering to technical and artistic constraints.
- Collaborate with the Art Director and Artists to create cohesive and believable game worlds, incorporating feedback.
- Ensure technical and artistic quality of the project, communicate and collaborate with team members, production, and management to achieve project goals on time.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience creating game environments, with at least one shipped title as Senior Environment Artist.
- Ability to receive, give, and apply feedback effectively.
- Familiarity with 3D software, such as Maya, Max, and/or Blender, and experience working in Unreal Engine.
- Strong understanding of efficient UV layout/Trimming and modular level production methods.
- Knowledge of 3D sculpting packages, like Zbrush or Mudbox.
- Familiarity with modeling processes, hi-res sculpting, baking textures, and material/shader setup in Unreal Engine.
- Understanding of PBR material pipeline and texturing in Substance Painter and/or Designer.
- Knowledge of composition and visual storytelling, as well as current game art processes, limitations, and dependencies.
