Ctrl+Alt+Slav: Community Merge

In the current report on the gaming industry in Serbia, there is information that may seem like a typo. The number of employees has doubled! It's not a mistake. Over 2,000 gaming professionals have relocated from Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. On this meetup we want to merge these communities :)

What drives an ecosystem forward? New ideas, fresh approach, influx of knowledge. We have all this at the palm of our hands since we welcomed our colleagues from the east to Serbia. Some of the biggest gaming studios now have their main global offices here – Wargaming, Sperasoft, MY.GAMES, Tiny Build, Playrix and many others.

At this special meetup, we want to bring domestic developers closer to the newcomers. This is a great occasion to show what’s new project-wise and to see new faces and projects on stage. The whole event is free, the program is in English and you only need to register.

The main lectures we will hear are:

  1. SperasoftPrinciples of real-time VFX creation – Aleksandr will talk about how to use the magic of number 3 in order to create better… anything! What is so special about number 3, how to use its power and unleash your creative potential with a few simple rules? Aleksandr will provide examples of how to use the power of 3 for creating visual effects, but these rules can be applied to any creative work.
  2. PlaykotLiveOps Event Customisation: let players choose their own strategy. A few words about Supercity, a top city builder available on eight platforms, including Facebook and its players. They’ll tell you about the way they create their events: the balance between change and stability. You will also learn about the customization of the Fortune Wheel event: their values, goals and results.
  3. Lav Games – a local indie studio that recently announced their game Somber Echoes. Their journey across the branch is the subject of the presentation. They will explore the exciting experience of how two studios, one in Serbia and the other one in Norway, came together to create their first IP. From the initial concept to the polished game, they’ll dive into the challenges, triumphs and creative magic that happens when diverse talents collaborate. Get ready for a visual game art feast and prepare to discuss cross-cultural teamwork. They celebrate the power of shared passion.
  4. Onyx Studio – from zero to hero – from an artist and team lead perspective, at three Onyx offices and more about their multicultural and international presence.

And that is not all! To further represent the communities, each lecture will be announced by someone from our gaming industry. Expect new and old faces working on new things! 🙂

  1. Tanja, the fresh/familiar face of SGA
  2. Toma Paleček from Game Dev Guild
  3. Jovana from the Epic Games Novi Sad comunity
  4. Maksim Jovović (Raycastly)

And the most important thing – we stay after the lectures for socializing with Salto beer.

See you!
