Crater Training Center and Epic Games introduce professionals from Serbia and the region to Unreal Engine 5

Unreal Engine Essentials, the first training under the Train the Professionals initiative, will be held this fall by the Crater Training Center, with the support of Unreal Engine Education and 3Lateral, Epic Games teams.

The Train the Professionals initiative was launched with the aim of supporting the development of ambitious artists from the region, bringing them closer to the possibilities of this engine and its use in production frameworks. During the training, participants will master the specifics of Unreal Engine 5 related to the design of the environment and real-time interaction through practical work. The line between film and video games is slowly blurring, as evidenced by a growing number of interactive projects including The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience, on which the 3Lateral studio team was working.

The training is primarily intended for professionals in the field of visual arts (3D modeling and visualization, creation of visual effects, game art and related) with at least two years of work experience. The competition for participation is open to professionals from all over Serbia and the region.

The training will be attended by 30 selected participants at a subsidized price of 70 euros, and classes will be held during October and November at the Crater Training Center, twice a week. Students outside Belgrade will be able to follow classes online. Unreal Engine Education will support young professionals by covering most of the value of this course, which otherwise amounts to 530 euros.

After the main part of the training (curriculum can be found here), the educational experience of Train the Professionals will be enriched by specialized lectures by industry experts with the aim of bringing the work processes in their studies closer to the participants.

The call is open to those who:

  • work in the field of visual arts;
  • have a minimum of two years of work experience (regardless of current work status);
  • can attend classes in Serbian;
  • mastered some of the leading 3D software (Autodesk Maya, 3ds MAX or Blender);
  • show that they are extremely motivated to attend the training.

The number of spots is limited, and the selection of candidates will be based on their technical experience, the quality of previous work and the motivation they show when applying. The training will be attended by a limited number of graduates who are just looking for professional experience and who delight us with their work.

The call is open until midnight on August 14, 2022, and you can send the application by filling out this form.
