Smart Start – financing for teams that make games and are not yet a registered company
For the fourth year in a row, the Innovation Fund will finance projects within Smart Start. This is one of many programs of the Innovation Fund, but it is unique because it is the only one that you can apply for without being pre-organized as a limited liability company, and you must become one only after receiving financial support.
So, it is necessary that there are two to five of you, and that at least 51% of you are residents of the Republic of Serbia, who do not have shares in another company in the country.
This is a call for co-financing, but up to 90% of the amount is provided by the Innovation Fund, which is 5.4 million RSD, plus another 600,000 RSD intended for mentoring support. So 6 million non-refundable funds in total.
This is an ideal opportunity for those who are beginners both in terms of business and production because it is targeted at the production of a prototype or a minimum viable product (in other words: a demo). Mentoring support will be present throughout all stages of development: from market research to establishing business models.
Applications are open until December 16 at noon. To apply, you need to create a profile on this platform, fill out a form in English and send a video of up to three minutes in which you present your project and team.
During the registration period, starting from October 10, informative Zoom sessions will be organized every Thursday at 1:00 p.m., where you can ask everything you are interested in.
The application form, as Pavle Kutlešić (Head of Tax & Finance at GameBiz Consulting) says on our Discord server, has never been simpler. There you can also get guidance from our members who have got this grant in previous cycles, so take advantage of the opportunity!
