Role Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced gameplay animator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a
passion for creating high-quality animation and a strong understanding of gameplay animations in both first person
and third person. Candidates with specific experience with weapon animations are preferred. This role will
collaborate with leadership to complete a set of given animations, as well as work with designers and 3D artists on
their work and create fluid animations as needed. The Character Animator will also collaborate closely with our
narrative, art, and marketing teams to create key pieces of animations.

Key Responsibilities:
● Animate high quality true first person animations in an animation software like Maya / Blender
● Work with the art and design teams to visualize and animate the characters
● Use Unreal Engine to implement animations into the game engine.
● Participate in brainstorming sessions to decide on the feel of the character movement, as well as the
gameplay implications of the movement
● Work with and refine existing animations, including fixing / retargeting old animations
● Collaborate effectively with other team members, including developers, artists, and designers.
● Complete work in a timely manner and be able to communicate clearly with a proactive approach in
regards to deadlines.
● Experience working with motion capture data. Cleaning mocap data / making it loop, as well as layering
animations on top of the source.
● Assist with R&D and implementation of new techniques and processes to improve the quality of animation
and efficiency of creation (i.e. in-game IK, procedural animations, game events triggered by animation, etc.)
● Ability to identify, adapt, and expand upon key visual elements, creating cohesive and consistent results.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
● Knowledge of Blender/Maya or similar animation software
● Experience with Unreal Engine and its workflows
● Experience creating/writing animation blueprints in Unreal Engine
● Experience creating game-ready animations
● Experience with True First Person animations
● Experience working in a team environment
Desirable Skills:
● Experience with simulations in the engine, as well as cached simulations from more heavy-duty tools
(houdini, max, etc.)
● Experience in game animation, specifically with first person / third person weapon animations.
● Proficient with 3D animation tools such as Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, or equivalent, and able to work directly
in Unreal Engine
● Solid understanding of animation principles and character creation.
● Strong understanding of game development process
● Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with all development disciplines:
programming, art, design, and production.
● Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
● Ability to deliver work on time and handle multiple tasks.
● Portfolio showing off your work in gameplay animation.
● A passion for gaming and a good understanding of what makes a game visually appealing and fun to play.
