Regardless of whether the game has a lot of dialogue, or is entirely based on visual narration, it is essential that everyone working on the project shares the same creative vision. We have to translate the idea into something verbal, which is mainly a logline – a short summary that tells us the basic information in the main characters, the plot and the external influence that throws us into a new adventure.
Participants of the third cycle of the Playing Narratives program here also encounter for the first time the character passport, as well as ideas about villains, internal conflict, the hero’s journey and other narrative techniques that are used in the construction of any successful story, whether it will end up being shaped into a video game. , or a movie, series, comic…
After a technical introduction, participants will come up with their own original loglines, which will later serve as the basis for their original video game concepts.
*** This year’s program would not be possible without the support of the RECONOMY* project, as well as dedicated partners from the industry – the company 3Lateral as part of Epic Games and the program partner Center for the Promotion of Science (CPN). In addition to them, the Goethe-Institut and the French Institute in Serbia are participating in the project.
*RECONOMY is a regional inclusive and green economic development program of the Swedish Development Agency Sida, which is implemented by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation, in cooperation with the organization Help – Hilfe zir Selbsthilfe e.V. and other partners in the countries of the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership.
