Gaming career fair in Niš

In your favorite game, someone created the characters, wrote the script, recorded the music and sounds. Someone organized all that, and someone else took care of marketing and community. We want you to know that one day you too can make someone's favorite game. Come and meet the people who do it in Serbia and see how you too can start your gaming career!

For all of you who are interested in a career in the gaming industry, we are organizing the first full-day job and career counseling fair in Novi Sad! Show your drawings to game art seniors, ask HR people anything you’re interested in and meet leading gaming companies and their employees. At the end of it all – inspiring lectures and promotion of our new platform shift2games.rs and the show Shift2Games!

WHO IS SHIFT2GAMES CAREER DAY FOR?

You! If you’re looking for a career in gaming, whether you’re just exploring, looking for your first job or already working somewhere and want to move into the gaming industry.

WHAT WILL IT LOOK LIKE?

During the whole day, several parts of the program will be organized in the large space of NTP Niš:

  1. Booths of local gaming companies
Some of our members will be there at your disposal – for you to get to know them and for them to get to know you!
  2. Artist feedback corner
You draw for yourself, you watch tutorials on YouTube for hours, but you have no idea if you’re going in the right direction or not. Throughout the day, you will have the opportunity to show your work to senior artists from successful gaming companies.
All you need is to bring your tablet, laptop or just a phone on which you will show your ArtStation account or portfolio, and they will give you feedback and guidelines for further work. You can also ask them how they’re doing at work, what you need to study next, and what your next steps are for entering the gaming industry.
  3. HR corner
In this part of the fair, you can talk 1 on 1 with people who hire future gaming talents and who take care of employees.
You can ask them anything: how does an interview look like for a position, what is expected in the test, what does team building look like… Here you can also show your CV, to see if you need to improve it somehow. You can also apply for internships in companies that are planning them soon.
  4. Motion Capture suit
The team from the Faculty of Electronics will present the use of Rococo suits for motion capture. You will be able to put a special tracker on your head and we will add a virtual character that imitates your facial expressions to the body of the actress wearing the suit live. While we’re having fun (and laughing) you’ll have a chance to learn how this suit makes life easier for game animators and artists.
  1. MAIN STAGE
At the very end, from 17:00 on the main stage, the main program will be held, three inspiring lectures given by seniors from the industry on the topics of game art, game production and game design. What can be done in gaming and how to get there? Those who have succeeded know this. Listen to three turbo short but dynamic lectures from the stars of Serbian gaming!

Ubisoft Belgrade, Andrej Minic and Aleksa Novoic (UI artists) – What is UI, why the game cannot do without it, and who makes it all, we will find out from this duo from Ubisoft Belgrade. They have worked on AAA titles and know all about it.

PackDev Interactive, 3D assets – This small studio from Niš makes assets for the Unreal digital store, which means they know everything about making 3D models. They will tell us how they founded this now successful studio, with whom they collaborate and what comes out of their kitchen.

Webelinx Games, Game Design – The mobile games of this studio from Niš are played by tens of millions of players around the world. A good game, in addition to the visual part and programming, is made up of levels and mechanics. This is exactly what game designers deal with, and here you will hear on the spot how.

BONUS: Promotion of Shift2Games platform and show
S2G is the place where you will find out everything about careers in gaming: jobs, education, first-hand experiences – and you choose what is easier for you – site or show.

The event is free and open to all, and places are not limited!
