Our members have published their first game! Hop on a skateboard and jump on the ceiling in the newly released Hannah’s Day by Watt Studio!

Watt Studio was founded as a graphics production studio for movies and games, excelling in art, cinematics and digital character creation. The team has vast experience in Unreal Engine, solving complex technical issues and seeking interesting visual solutions. During the pandemic, they started developing their own game and in 2021 won the Unreal Engine Dev Contest.

In Watt Studio’s first title, Hannah’s Day, you get a single day to prove to Hannah’s parents and friends that following one’s dream is not easy, but it’s worth it! To do so, you will need to skateboard, explore colorful locations and solve original spatial puzzles using Hannah’s superpowers. These include unusual platforming mechanics, such as jumping and skating on the ceiling, dragging objects and parts of locations and tilting the entire world.

In this universally relatable story about self-actualization, you will see how the protagonist’s experiences and mood affect the development of the story and the environment, sprinkling the city locations with abstract spaces of Hannah’s inner world. And you experience this art adventure in a unique space inspired by Suprematism and avant-garde.

The most important lesson working on this game has taught us was that you need to grow a community and work with them during the entire development process.

We have asked Marina Simkina, the Creative Producer at Watt Studio, to tell us a little about the game and its development. Here’s what she had to say:

“The journey of Hannah’s Day started out small – it was only five people who created the demo in three months. But in the production phase, there were about 30 people, eager to create something unique and special.

The most important lesson working on this game has taught us was that you need to grow a community and work with them during the entire development process. We thought that we should concentrate on the quality of production and find a good publisher who knows marketing much more than us.

The situation on the market changed drastically since we decided to develop games but because we have plenty of ideas to share with the world, we hope the release of Hannah’s Day will help us raise investments for our next project.”

Hannah’s Day is available on Steam at a 20% discount at the moment, where you can also check out the free demo.
