Shift2Games Career Day – once more in Belgrade!

For everyone who is interested in a career in the gaming industry, we are organizing another job and career counseling fair in Belgrade! Show your drawings to game art seniors, ask HR people anything you're interested in and meet leading gaming companies. At the end of it all - inspiring lectures, announcements of new SGA programs and many more surprises brought by a friend of the project - the company Samsung!

WHO IS #SHIFT2GAMES CAREER DAY FOR?

For you! If you’re looking for a career in gaming, whether you’re just exploring, looking for your first job or already working somewhere and want to move into the gaming industry.

WHAT WILL IT LOOK LIKE?

Several stages will be organized throughout the day in the large area of Dorćol Platz:

  • PORTFOLIO REVIEW CHAIR [12 – 5 PM]

You draw for yourself, you spend hours watching tutorials on YouTube, but you have no idea if you are going in the right direction or not? During the whole day, you will have the opportunity to show your works to senior artists from the companies: Onyx Studio, Art Bully, Nordeus and Crater Training Center.

All you need is to bring your tablet, laptop, USB, or you will be able to use the latest SAMSUNG S24 phone to show off your ArtStation account or portfolio. You will receive valuable feedback and guidelines for further work. You can also ask them company representatives how they are doing at work, what you need to study next and what are your next steps to enter the gaming industry.

  • SERBIAN GAMING COMPANIES’ BOOTHS [12 – 6 PM]

Some of our members will be there at your disposal – for you to get to know them and for them to get to know you! In addition to companies, there will also be representatives of educational institutions, and this time stands will be set up by Wargaming, Onyx Studio, Art Bully, Crater Training Center and the Belgrade Academy of Business and Art Vocational Studies (BAPUSS).

  • HR CORNER [12 – 5 PM]

In this part of the fair, you can talk 1 on 1 with people who hire future gaming talents and who take care of the employees of the companies Onyx Studio, Art Bully, Nordeus and Crater Training Center.

You can ask them anything: how does an interview look like for a position, what is expected in the test, what does team building look like… Here you can also show your CV, to see if you need to improve it somehow. You can also apply for internships in companies that are planning them soon. And merch packages are awaiting everyone in the HR corner!

MAIN STAGE [6 – 7.15 PM]

At the very end, from 6 PM on the main stage, the main, dynamic program of inspiring lectures will be presented by interesting speakers from both large companies and smaller indie studios.

  • ANNOUNCEMENTS of the Playing Narratives program and other interesting SGA activities to come!Be among the first to know everything about the just-opened competition for the fourth cycle of the Playing Narratives program! So far, more than 80 young creatives from all over the region have taken part, and more than 15 original concepts for different games have been developed. Be part of the team that will do the same in 2024, with the help of top industry mentors and the entire SGA team!

Nikola Silić,

About the lecturer

Nikola Silić is a “jack of all trades, master of none” – screenwriter, director, 2D/3D generalist with over 20 years of experience in film and TV, as well as more recently also in AI and virtual production. Producer and screenwriter of video segments in the show Evening with Ivan Ivanović. He completed the TTP (Train The Professionals) course for Unreal Engine at Crater Training Center. One of the Fellows of the first generation of the Epic Unreal Fellowship: Storytelling in Novi Sad. Creator of the web series Elita, fan of Rick & Morty animation in Serbia.

Jovan Pucarević,
Game Desginerr Mad Head Games
About the lecturer

Jovan started his career as an architect but shifted to gaming after three years. At Mad Head Games, he started as a Technical Artist and later became a Producer of casual games. Now, he’s working as a Game Designer on AA and AAA projects, with his latest published title being Scars Above. He’s a horror enthusiast with a plethora of hobbies, including martial arts, playing bass, miniature painting, and indulging in video games.

David Ibrović,
QA Lead, Art Bully Productions
About the lecturer

David Ibrović started his career as a 3D Artist at the Artbully studio in 2019. He started as a junior 3D Artist, and over time working on different projects, both stylized and realistic, David progressed to a senior position. As a Senior Artist, he soon became a team leader, and today he works in the quality control department and is in charge of the final check of assets before sending them to the client.

Kristina Janković Obućina,
Executive Manager, SGA
About the lecturer

In charge of member relations, ecosystem building, our programs, as well as events and initiatives, Kris is here to communicate with relevant stakeholders and provide all information about Serbia’s growing gaming ecosystem. With a strong background in journalism, communications, project management and dozens of trophies on her PS4 profile, she is always in the mood to talk about gaming and find a way to support young creatives and new projects. She has been with SGA since the very founding of the association and is dedicated to developing the domestic gaming industry and the visibility of our teams, companies and games locally, but also globally.

Đorđe Marković,
Cofounder, Bohemian Pulp
About the lecturer

Đorđe started his career as a digital artist and graphic designer, but soon devoted himself to his passion for creating video games. Four years ago, he began a personal project that gained the attention of followers and publishers of MicroProse. In 2023, the project was supported by the local startup funds Raising Starts and Start Smart, and together with the support of the Serbian gaming community and the SGA, they built the Bohemian Pulp team, which now has six members. Currently, they are completing the first project Let Byons Be Bygones, a game that will debut on the global market in the first half of 2024.
