This year, the Association of Video Games Industry of Serbia and partners organized an eight-month program during which 35 young artists (who deal with creative writing, 2D and 3D art, sound design and animation) learn how to make video games. During these eight months, numerous lectures, practical exercises and visits to studios introduced them to the video game industry, and with the professional support of mentors, they developed concepts for their first projects. This event is the very end of their work. Six teams will present their projects live in front of an international jury.
In addition to the presentations, visitors will have the opportunity to hear the lecture Alternative Ways of Making Games: Designing Alternative Controllers (Alt-Ctrl) for Video Games, which will be given by special guest and member of the jury, Julia Makivic, lecturer at the University of the Arts in London. This presentation will provide an overview of the history of video games with alternative controllers and how they represent an alternative to the mainstream gaming industry. It covers the different types of alt-ctrl games, how you can make them, and how they can provide an extra layer of narrative meaning to games. After that, the artist will demonstrate some of her projects.

In addition to these, the platform the A Maze festival also participated in the project, as well as the Goethe-Institut and the French Institute in Serbia.
RECONOMY is a regional inclusive and green economic development program of the Swedish Development Agency Sida, which is implemented by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation, in cooperation with the organization Help – Hilfe zir Selbsthilfe e.V. and other partners in the countries of the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership.
