Create in Unity

Unity Technologies, a company that develops one of the most dominant software platforms for developing 2D and 3D video games, VR experiences and other forms of digital creativity - Unity Engine - is presenting an event for professionals in Serbia for the first time, in cooperation with SGA. On Tuesday, November 12, you will have the opportunity to hear experts from Unity, as well as representatives of the local community who use this engine in their daily work.

Unity is a powerful engine for creating games and interactive experiences. It is designed to simplify game development by providing pre-built tools and features that developers can use for their projects. The platform enables the creation and manipulation of objects within a 2D or 3D environment, and often finds its use in the development of VR/XR and other immersive experiences in the field of architectural visualization and interaction design.

Within the framework of the domestic gaming industry, about 40% of developers work on Unity, while almost all projects dedicated to the development of games for mobile devices are based on this platform. Therefore, it is of particular importance that SGA has the opportunity to present together with Unity Technologies the first official Unity event in Serbia – CREATE IN UNITY – which will bring together the local community dedicated to creating with this tool.

Create in Unity will be held in Prostor Miljenko Dereta (55 Dobračina Street) on Tuesday, November 12, between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM, after which we will continue with an informal gathering.

The event is primarily intended for professionals and is free with mandatory registration. The official language of the event will be English.

All participants will have the opportunity to win one of two UNITY PRO LICENSES (valued at USD 2,040 per license), which we will randomly distribute through a raffle at the very end of the event.

The program can be downloaded here.

In the spirit of community, what’s special about this event is that interested local Unity experts can submit their 15-minute presentations, which they can present as part of the Unity Code Peer Review segment. This is an opportunity to exchange experiences with colleagues about specific technical solutions, or present your interesting case studies – whether it is about mobile game development or other areas. You can express your interest in this part of the program in the registration form for the event.

What else can interested professionals expect at the event?

  • Opportunities to speak directly to Unity Technologies representatives;
  • The latest information on new and upcoming Unity features, straight “from the source”;
  • Interesting lectures and presentations by local and foreign experts;
  • Q & A sesssion;
  • VR demo corner;
  • Topics related to mobile game dev, VR/XR, non-gaming applications of Unity, asset workflows, cross-platform graphics and many others.

Announced guest speakers include Sean Totterdale (Frontend Engineering Manager, Unity), Mike Geig (Senior Manager, Games & Digital Productions, Unity), Mark Schoenegal (Advocacy Manager, Unity) and Daniel Bierwirth (Senior Solutions Engineer, Unity). Create in Unity is the first event in cooperation between SGA and Unity Technologies, and the beginning of a closer connection and professional development of the domestic community that uses this technology, whether it is about projects in the domain of the gaming industry or other spheres of digital creativity.
